Floral Denim

We are midway into Spring, I have began to notice that Floral Prints are all over the runway! From clothing, to accessories, to footwear... Florals are a very large trend this year.

A particularly popular way to incorporate floral print into your outfit this season is through denim! You may think it strange if you are not used to the idea, but it is extremely trendy and fashionable.

If you have Floral Denim or you are interested in buying a pair here are a few suggestions:

  • Florals on Florals is a bit too much for something as loud as floral jeans, so I recommend sticking to a solid color top.
  • I would also recommend not wearing an extremely, brightly colored top... for this would take away some of the pants unique effect and they will not stand out as much.
  • Personally, I try to keep the same color scheme
  • On the shoe front, you have a lot to work with... just think about what you would regularly wear with jeans... but be a little more cautious of clashing.
  • On the accessories front, I like my handbags to be as matching as possible... but if you are like me and your handbag supply is not huge... then I wouldn't stress it.
  • I have not given examples of jewelry below, because I think that it is really up to you.

Nighty Night Girlies!

At the end of a really long day do you ever get that feeling where all you want to do is climb in bed and relax? That is exactly what I feel like now. Right about now I am planning to put my computer to sleep for the night and call it a day. My bath has been taken, my face has been washed, and my tea has been drinken. I think I will read a little bit of the book I am reading currently, Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. I can do a review on it if you want. Ohmigosh is that picture not the
cutest thing you have ever seen!? It has some of my favorite things ever-
pink, fuzzy blankets, and golden retriever puppies. I think I will explode from the cuteness =). Thanks for reading, good night!

Book Corner: The Summer I Turned Pretty

Ok, so a while ago I read the book: The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han. It was absolutely amazing. When I first saw it on some website it did not look very good to me. Then Charlotte recommended it, so I purchased it and began to read. It took me about an hour and I sat in bed until it was finished.

The book is about this girl who has gone to this beach house her whole life with her mom's best friend and her two sons, Conrad and Jeremiah. Belly, now fifteen, has been in love with the elder son Conrad for a very long time. She thought about him every day during the long winter months, and chased after him in the summer. Belly had always been the odd one out between the 2 boys and her brother Steven, but this summer... something changes. Everything changed, because it was the summer she turned pretty of course! Despite longing looks from Jeremiah, and meeting a guy named Cam... Will Conrad finally notice her?

Well I am not going to give anything else away, but if you are interested in finding out Belly's fait... I highly recommend reading it and the second and third books in the series.

Honey I Washed the Kids Review

Okay guys, before I even start this post I have to admit that I am a total Lush junkie. Lush is a store that sells all sorts of bath, hair, and shower products. Seriously my whole bathroom smells just like the Lush store. Honey I Washed the Kids is easily my favorite shower product from Lush. It is a bar soap that you use all over your body in the shower or you can use it as a hand soap. I use this every day in the shower. Lush describes it as smelling like honey and toffe. I think it smells like the soft caramels that are so irresistibly tasty. It lathers really nicely and the smell kind of wraps around you while you are washing your body with it. The base of the soap is a dark cream color and then it fades to the brown/orange of the honeycomb on the top. Seriously how cute is that!!?? It is like Lush hired a bunch of busy bees to make honeycomb for their soap ;). I would rate this product a 100000000000000 on a scale of 1 to 10.
XOXO!

My Top 5 Beauty Picks for Spring

Hello Lovlies! I hope you used your tulips to kiss winter goodbye because spring has sprung! Time to break out those shorts and flip flops and of course update your makeup look! I have chosen 5 of my favorite picks for spring.

1) Daisy perfume by Marc Jacobs- with notes of Strawberry, Violet Leaves, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Gardenia, Violet Petals, Jasmine Petals, Musk, Vanilla, White Woods this perfume is perfect for spring! Sephora describes it as bright, eternal, and alluring. The smell alone is to die for! And also... who could not instantly fall in love with the bottle? I think I will go spritz my self with some now.....

2) Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Protective Face Lotion- I love this product. It is super moisturizing, all of my life I have had these little dry patches on my skin that feel like tiny bumps but when I tried this, they all went away. This product gives a very nice glow to your face. You really want to always use SPF to prevent wrinkles and skin cancer but especially when the weather is warmer and the sun is stronger your skin needs a barrier from the sun. When you first put it on it is snow white but once you rub it in it does not leave any white on your skin. This lotion is very light-weight and not oily at all.

3) Chanel Levres Scintillantes- I love these lip glosses! I remember when I was little and would sit on the counter wide eyed as my mom did her makeup I would always ask her to put a little bit of makeup on me and I feel like this was the one she would always reach for. Now I know that she would only put on a tiny bit (you could barely see it) but I felt like a princess! This lipgloss is now the first one I grab when I want to add a little bit of color to my lips. They are super moisturizing after they wear off which is such a great quality to have in a gloss! I love the sparkle and glossiness these add to my lips. I don't like that they wear off kind of quickly but if I toss one in my purse I know that I will be ready to go! I love the packaging of these glosses. They come with a sponge applicator that in one swipe gets enough gloss over my lips. Sometimes with other lip glosses I feel like I need to keep dipping until I get enough product. The color that I am loving right now is number 148.

4) Benefit Bella Bamba Boxed Blush- This blush is perfect for spring time! It is a gorgeous bubble gum pink color. This blush comes in a cute purple and orange box and contains a mirror and a brush. I found that the brush is really high quality and was very soft when I was using it. I had to take it out of the box though, because blush kept getting on the handle then the blush would get on my hands.... it was a mess! The blush itself is very shimmery and gives great color to any skin type. It lasts me all day and it is very blendable! This blush is the complete package!

5) Urban Decay Super Curling Mascara- This mascara adds volume and length to my usually long but straight eyelashes. I don't think it really lives up to it's promising of "curling" but if you have an eyelash curler and you use that prior to this Mascara you are good to go! It darkens my blonde lashes, makes them super long, and thickens them. I am not going to lie sometimes this mascara clumps but I usually just brush it out. This mascara lasts for hours and hours! It is always the first one I reach for.

So there you have it folks! My top 5 picks for spring. Now that I have my makeup done I can go marvel at the beautiful flowers growing! =)
XOXO!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Ok, so where we live it has rained a lot this passed weekend. Sometimes, rain ruins your good spirits, but you can never let it ruin your sense of style. I put together a few tips and ideas for your next rainy day.

First thing's first: Don't be afraid to add some color to your outfit! Rain can be depressing, so why not be bold and cute when you have a reason? I added these pink Hunter Rainboots to the outfit. As for your rainboots... Don't be afraid to have fun choosing them!

On the clothes front, I decided to go with some comfy jeans, a knit top, and a nice scarf to compliment the outfit. I thought about adding a trench coat, because they are so cute on a rainy day, but since the summer months are nearing there are not many cheap and cute ones available, so I decided otherwise

And of course... What is the point of rain if you don't have a fun umbrella to carry along with you? There are lots of places you can buy cute and inexpensive umbrella's so there is no excuse to stick to black.

Do not worry completely about using water proof materials, because if you have an umbrella on hand, you should be safe.

This post is not mainly about fashion, but while I am talking about it... I have a few tips for your beauty routine:

  • Try to use waterproof mascara. It may be more difficult to get off, but who wants those nasty black streaks under their eyes?
  • Skip the lip gloss. I personally love lipgloss, but it can look a little messy especially when the wind is blowing and it gets caught in your hair...
  • My last tip is to use powders over cream. Generally powder has a better chance of absorbing oil and moisture.
Of course, when the weather is cold... Why not stop at your favorite cafe for a warm coffee!

Evolution of Smooth

Have you ever wanted a lip balm that could make you smile? Well that was the main purpose of Evolution of Smooth's (eos) Lip balm sphere. It comes in six different unique flavors- Summer Fruit, Lemon Drop, Strawberry Sorbet, Honeysuckle Honeydew, Medicated Tangerine, and Sweet Mint. They all smell/ taste amazing and the packaging is to die for! They are very natural and organic and they come out clear on your lips. I personally love this product because of how long the effect lasts! It keeps my lips smooth and moisturized for very long periods of time. My favorite flavor is the Summer Fruit- It smells like those candy peach rings (: It contains extracts from Strawberries, Blueberries, and Peaches, but I honestly can only smell the Peach. I would definitely recommend this product for the summer months to come!
Have you tried this product?

My favorite Spring Shoe

Hello beauties! This post is going to be all about my favorite spring shoe. This gorgeous shoe is the Tory Burch Emmy flat. First off let me say this shoe was a real wallet drainer. I bought these shoes for 210 dollars in my local Bloomingdales. But to balance it out this shoe's  quality is amazing! You know the expression 'you get what you pay for'? Well that is exactly what I was thinking when I purchased these.  I know that these babies will last me for a long time. I am literally in love with these sandals. They are perfect for those warm months coming off. I love how the base of the shoe is a fun pattern instead of just plain navy to match the strap. The colored base adds a fun kick to the shoe. My foot covers a lot of the bottom but not all so that means I can not wear it with a patterned top or bottom without it clashing. I think these shoes are very worth the splurge and  I look forward too many outfits with these as the star of the show!
XOXO!
